Council Tax 2026/2027

The Council agreed to increase its allocation of the Council Tax, known as the precept, to £78,000 at its meeting in December 2025, up from £55,000 in 2025/2026. Funding is required for regeneration works to the ponds  and for tree works on the Common, both of which have been overlooked in recent years. In addition,  Council’s general reserves were noted as low by the Internal Auditor which needed addressing.  However, this increase only equates to an additional 70p a week for a Band D household.
